I went to Medellín for a breast augmentation. I was pretty nervous about doing surgery outside the U.S., mostly because I didn't really know what the experience would be like once I got there. The first couple of days were harder than I expected because of the swelling and I was definitely uncomfortable, but the doctor had explained that to me before. What helped was knowing who to contact when I had questions. I didn't feel like I was just left on my own after the procedure. Overall, I'm glad I did it, but I would definitely tell anyone considering it to ask a lot of questions before traveling.
